Born in Coire, Theus opened her architecture studio in 1969, immediately after obtaining her degree from ETH Zurich. Her work, characterised by colour and ornament, has led her to be considered a key figure of Swiss postmodernity. Her projects include the Widder Hotel, Zurich; the police station of the Rathausbrücke, Zurich; and the FIFA headquarters, Zurich.Image: Tilla Theus and Partner AG, FIFA World Headquarters, Zurich, Switzerland.artFabrice GygiPrix Meret OppenheimFabrice Gygi is the 2026 winner of the Prix Meret Oppenheim in the Art category. Greta Schödl participated in the main exhibition of the Biennale Arte 2024. In her works, Schödl arranges letters and symbols in geometric forms and obsessively repeats them until they are rendered virtually abstract. As a surface, she has used stone, handmade paper, books, maps, personal letters, and household objects such as ironing boards, pillowcases and bed sheets. Through the combination of language and image, Schödl erases the original function of words and objects and imbues them with new meaning.Image: Greta Schödl, Installation view at 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere, 2024. They were chosen by the jury for their project Le corps vitré, which will be presented at the Rencontres d’Arles and Paris Photo. Le corps vitré explores the relationships between living beings, images, and the environment through an experimental process known as bacteriography. Using microbiological samples taken from aquatic environments located at the interface between natural spaces and industrial infrastructure, Lara Tabet creates images produced by the direct interaction between microorganisms and photosensitive surfaces.Image: Lara Tabet, A Personal Cartography of Entangled Toxicities: The Rivers. © Romain HarelAbout BMW ART MAKERS
