Sophie Chapdelaine de Montvalon is Canadian and French. She was a Ph.D. candidate in Contemporary History at Centre de Recherches Historiques, École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris. Her research focused in fashion and design of the French retail chain Prisunic, 1945-1972, under the supervision of Professor Nancy L. Green. Sophie graduated at Sciences Po Paris. She is also teaching fashion history and fashion studies at Istituto Marangoni and has lectured at NYU Paris and Paris College of Art.
