Conference "From Sportswear to Streetwear" with Guénolée Milleret
The Plateau Fertile Paris team welcomes you on Thursday 8 February from 6.30pm to 8.30pm for a discussion on the subject of Sportswear to Streetwear.
Guénolée Milleret, who teaches fashion history at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, will tell us about the evolution of fashion from sportswear to streetwear. This journey through time reveals how sportswear, which emerged in the inter-war years, shaped a casual yet elegant style.
We discover how the values of sport gave life to garments that quickly became iconic, spreading from the streets to the catwalks of luxury brands the world over. Renowned designers such as Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tomoaki Nagao, Yohji Yamamoto and Jeremy Scott have also been won over by the power of sportswear, placing it firmly on the contemporary fashion landscape.
This meeting promises a captivating exploration of this evolution in fashion, marked by creativity, the influence of urban culture and sporting values.
