Vianney: This Important Woman Helping Him with His New Project

Vianney, well-known for his musical talents, is dedicating himself to a personal project close to his heart, with the support of a woman working behind the scenes... and it’s not his partner Catherine Robert, a cellist and the mother of his son, Edgar.

In addition to his music career, Vianney is also passionate about fashion. A 2014 graduate of the École Supérieure et Technique de la Mode (ESMOD) in Paris, he honed his skills in sewing and clothing design. This prestigious school, a cornerstone for aspiring fashion professionals since 1841, provided him with a solid foundation. Although his career in music soon took precedence, Vianney never abandoned his interest in fashion, a passion deeply rooted in his creative journey.

Despite his fame as a singer, he has never abandoned his passion for fashion. This training left a lasting impression on him, and even at the height of his musical career, he remains committed to his desire for creation—a project supported by a very important woman in his life who lends him her assistance.

Is Vianney at the Heart of a New Artistic Project?

Since June 21, 2021, Vianney has devoted part of his energy to his clothing brand, Vrai. This project is one he carries out with an important woman in his life: his mother. In an Instagram story shared on Tuesday, November 5, the Je m’en vais singer thanked his team as well as his mother, who supports him in this venture.

Beyond musical creation, Vianney sees fashion as another way of expressing himself: "Writing a song, imagining a piece of clothing—these are two ways of telling stories," as stated on his brand's website. The artist draws on his imagination to create pieces that reflect his world, enriched with artistic references, notably to Matisse and Braque, to explore "free forms."

Vianney Has Chosen an Eco-Responsible and Solidarity-Based Approach

For Vianney, ethics are at the core of his approach. He is committed to offering products that respect both the environment and society. "Today, 100% of our items are made from natural or organic materials. Our shipping boxes are 100% recyclable, 100% compostable, and made from recycled materials," he specifies on the Vrai website.

This commitment stands out in the fashion industry, which is increasingly shaped by the need for eco-friendly solutions. Vrai is also built on human values, aiming to support solidarity and environmental causes: "All profits generated by sales are donated to public-interest associations that work to support disadvantaged individuals or projects focused on inclusion and solidarity." A project far removed from the glitter and glamour of the music scene.
